School For Numeracy, Literacy & Life Skills

School Of Literacy, Numeracy And Life Skills

The Circle has recently introduced assessment-based schooling for children with special needs.  Children who may find it difficult to fit into regular mainstream schools can benefit from a literacy, numeracy and life skills program designed and executed by a qualified and trained professional. The program also includes one-on-one therapy sessions (speech, behavioural, and occupational), so that needed therapy is provided in addition to specially designed academics.

We follow the world-renowned Orton-Gillingham approach to reading, writing, and spelling. The approach is an evidence-based structured literacy methodology that has been curated to best fit each individual child’s language acquisition needs.

Additionally, self-care skills (hygiene routines, dressing), home and daily living (organizing school bag, cleaning up toys, helping with simple chores), social and communication skills (taking turns, sharing), executive function and independence (following instructions and sequences) constitute part of the program.

It is every parent’s wish to see their child go to school happy and relaxed. A school, therefore, must breathe life into learning, and create enjoyment for its students. Students flourish when play, creativity, academics and social interaction flow together. To make this come to life, we  offer pottery, music, arts, and gamified learning to make each child’s experience wholesome and joyous!

Life Skills

Life Skills are the practical abilities that help a child live independently and confidently, while also assisting in social, emotional, and academic growth. These skills can be taught step by step, often with visual supports, modeling, and lots of practice.

In our program, we offer children self-care skills (hygiene routines, dressing), home and daily living (organizing school bag, cleaning up toys, helping with simple chores), social and communication skills (taking turns, sharing), and executive function and independence (following instructions and sequences).

Our trained teachers use appropriate materials, working with each individual child to teach them at their pace. The level of skills as well as complexity will increase over time. (Parents may  indicate areas of struggle for the child which may influence the combination and focus of the program)
